Monday, August 2nd

Without a doubt, this day has to be the best day of the trip, thus far.

The team started working at the new sight of the church. Dirt, debrs, rocks, and bricks all had to be either used, moved, or hauled out of the new building site. ...We are having a special celebration there this weekend and it is important that we can make it look its best. Along with our team, the pastoral team, and members of the congregation, both young and old came to help. We carried, lifted, hauled, and shoveled to make the church ready. We also got the recycling ready for distribution and loaded. The Recycyling Ministry is a terrific ministry that can be talked about at a later time.

After lunch and a short rest, the team headed out with some women from the church to talk to some people in the community. Many of these people either don´t believe in Christ and God´s love with us, or they don´t believe in anything, or they don´t feel church is necessary to attend. One particular family had asked that we speak to their three teenage sons. Also, a few friends were invited to see "the Americans." We gave our testimonies and had a good discussion about, God, The Bible, and church. It was unbelievable. A friend of the family decided to become a believer that day. I think the team was speechless (which can be hard for some of us). I think the team will remember this for the rest of their lives.

After talking to one other family, we went over to Pasto Marco house for supper. Many elders of the church also came. It was a evening full of lots of laughter, love, and kindness. The church´s generosity towards us has truly been remarkable. Everyone gives from their heart. Our team feels so blessed.

God IS Great!!
